HH Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi holds a number of senior positions in both the public and private sector in the UAE. He is the Chairman of Sharjah Media Council, Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Petroleum Council and Chairman of Sharjah National Oil Company, and has been a member of the Sharjah Executive Council since 2006. Sheikh Sultan is also Chairman of Basma Group, a privately owned company that invests in a number of different sectors; Chairman of Tilal Properties; and Chairman of Wekaya, a medical waste company, in addition to numerous other roles and responsibilities.
